The iPhone 6 is coming out, and it is probably not your first iPhone. However, it is most probable that there are certain things that you didn’t know your iPhone could do; it will amaze you.
1. Tell Siri To Read Your Email
Order Siri to ‘read my mail’ and she will do it for you. She will tell you the sender’s name, the date, the time and the subject line. You can also ask her if you ‘have any emails’, or to read your ‘latest email’ out loud. Siri is here to serve you.
2. Airplane Mode Will Make It Charge Twice As Fast
Okay, the iPhone is one of the greatest technological inventions of the century, but none of us can deny the fact that the battery drives us crazy. I mean, you put it on charge, and three hours later, you have to charge it again. The solution is present, you just didn’t know it. Whether you’re at a bar, at a friend’s party or even in class, you can make your phone charge really fast and maintain its battery. All you have to do is put it on Airplane Mode while charging.
3. If You Listen To Music Before You Sleep, You Can Set a Timer For It To Turn Off
We all feel like listening to our favourite songs in bed, from time to time, before falling asleep. The only problem is that we’ll either have to keep an eye open to turn off the music, or we will wake up and our phone will be off because the media was playing all night long. This is why, you have to launch your Clock app with a tap, and then tap on the Timer button in the lower right. Then, you have to set the timer for however long you want your media to play. Once there, tap ‘When Timer Ends,’ and scroll down to the bottom. Tap on ‘Stop Playing.’
4. Take Pictures With Your Earphones
When your camera application is on, press the center button on the headset to take a picture. It is very useful for selfies, as it offers a better quality.
5. Shake It To Undo And Redo Texts
We all hate deleting texts we don’t need because it takes a lot of time. This is why, you can simply shake your phone, and an ‘Undo’ option will delete it all for you. If you want the text back, shake it again, and a ‘Redo’ option will appear.
6. Have A Passcode With Letters Instead Of Numbers
You don’t need to use numbers to unlock your phone. To use letters instead, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Turn off Simple Passcode. Once you do this, a keyboard screen will show up and let you set the password.
7. Teach Siri To Pronounce
Aren’t you tired of Siri being a bad student who doesn’t know how to pronounce certain words? Teach her! Next time she mispronounces a word, tell her ‘That’s not how you pronounce X,’ and then pronounce it for her. She will try again, and offer you a few options. Pick the one that sounds the best way to pronounce the word, and Siri will use it from now on.
8. Block Those Who Annoy You
Tired of your ex? You don’t need Caller ID or any similar application. All you need to do is is block calls from a specific number by clicking the ‘i’ button beside their most recent call, and selecting ‘Block This Caller’ from the bottom of the page. If you change your mind, you can unblock their number by going to Settings> Phone> Blocked> and removing them from your list.
9. Always Find Your Phone
Admit it. We all tend to lose our iPhones. This is why you can track it from any other Apple device by going to Settings Menu> Location Services> Find My Phone. You can make your iPhone sound an alarm, erase private data, and even lock the phone remotely.
10. Take Several Pictures At The Same Time
Sometimes you want to take pictures of your friend running, a moving object, of a party, or even of your grandpa who tends to blink a lot. iPhone lets you take up to 10 pictures a second! All you have to do is open the camera app> tap and hold the shutter release button> press and hold the Volume Up button> camera will start taking the pictures. When you’re done, release the button.
