There are lots of people who have been repeating the mantra of ‘new year, new you’ ever since 2018. For most people, this whole mantra is to try and motivate themselevs to make some big changes in their life, usually by getting healthier and fitter. For those out there who are new to the world of sport and fitness, that means finding a new sport to get into.
Ready to break into a new sport to try and get fitter? Here are some ways you can find the best sport or workout for you.
Get Ready To Try A Few
You shouldn’t expect to enjoy the very first sport that you try out. Most people take a month or so to try a few different ones as each sport and workout is completely different from any other out there. So, as you can expect, you probably won’t enjoy them all. But at least this means that you shouldn’t feel disheartened if the first sport you try doesn’t feel right for you. It should motivate you to get out there and find an even better one that suits you down to a T!
Visit An Expo
When you go to your nearest leisure centre or sports club to sign up for a few taster sessions, they will only have a few limited sports and classes on offer. If you want to try something a little out of the ordinary, you will be better off going to the BodyPower Fitness Expo or a similar expo or sports fair. At these events you will find that a lot of rare workout classes and sports are on show, giving you the chance to try them out. There will be plenty of information available at the expos as well, so you will be able to find out where your nearest session or club for a rare sport is. Most expos are also great for doing some shopping as they will feature stands selling sports nutrition and equipment.
Team Up With Friends
Why not try out some new sports with your friends? You all might have different ideas of the kinds of sessions you want to try, so pooling your ideas is a great way to discover some sports and workouts that you might not have thought of on your own. Not only that, but starting a new sport with all your friends is a great way to keep motivated. As you will have each other to egg on, you will find that very few of you will get bored and drop out further down the line. Plus, the competitive nature that might arise in your friendship group is another great reason to stay focused — after all, you’ll want to try and beat your mates in all your sessions!
So, what are you waiting for? There is no time like the present to get out there and find an inspiring sport that will help you get your fitness back on track. Which one do you fancy?
