Recently temperatures in London went down to -10 with windchill. Now this has not only caused severe discomfort for millions of Londoners with trains and tubes delayed, with broken boilers and sodden feet but for the forgotten group of London, the homeless it meant in some cases, death. The Do it for Derek Challenge is Shout Out UK’s challenge to the people of London to help out their fellow men and women this winter and coming Spring. Instead of rushing past a homeless person sitting on the street to stop, sit down with them and ask them one simple question, “Is there anything I can do for you?”. The hope is that this will improve social cohesion and even save a life in the process.
