It takes a lot of effort to get visitors to your website. If you’re actively managing your SEO, then you should see plenty of people finding your website via Google and other search engines. Yet, while it’s important to ensure that people can find you through the search engines, they’re not the only places people will find and access your website. There are plenty of other sites across the web that can perform that job. But you’ll need to take a few steps in order to make it happen. Below, we take a look at some smart ways you can boost your website’s referral traffic.

Make Videos

You’ll hopefully already be aware of just how important video is becoming to the internet experience, but if you’re not, here’s the bottom line: some 80 per cent of internet traffic will be video related by 2021. And that means that a lot of people are watching videos! To make sure you’re making the most of this potential, you’ll need to look at making videos. The type of video you make will depend on the type of business that you have, but it could include product reviews, tutorials, and other useful information. Get them made, and upload to YouTube and other video sites — and be sure to include a link to your website in the description.

Get on Social Media

It makes sense to be a presence on the websites where people are hanging out. And in 2019, that means social media, which has never been more popular. Some people only visit Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and only move onto other sites when they click links from there. You’ll want to have pages on all these sites for your business, but it’s not just your followers you should be reaching. When you’ve got a quality post, make sure you include tags that people search for, and point them towards your website in the post.

Other Credible Websites

People can come to your website via a multitude of means, including other sites. But of course, you’ll need to get your website included on those web pages if people are to find you. An excellent way to do this is to work with a company that offers a link building service. You’ll get a link of your choosing inserted into another page, which means visitors of that website can click through to your site. This is also an excellent way to move up the search engine rankings, too.

Q&A Sessions

People are always looking for authoritative information, and an increasingly popular way to find this information is to visit websites that allow user-driven answers, such as Quora and Reddit. Take a look at the questions people are asking about your industry, and provide a quality answer — and don’t forget to add a link to your business in there too. You should also be claiming and managing your pages (including adding a link to your homepage) on Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor, and any other review-style websites where your business may appear.
