We run Political Literacy and Media Literacy programmes in secondary schools across the UK, both offline and online via our E-Platform, ensuring everyone knows how the system works.
Our youth-led news platform provides young people with a platform to share ideas and debate.
We help connect universities, businesses and charities with young people across schools and on our platform.
“Shout Out UK is a dynamic, very modern, organisation with real impact on the debates that matter; paying proper attention to the teaching of politics at school, raising awareness of human rights with young audiences, analysing technology’s growing importance and associated risks, defending freedom of expression, cosmopolitanism and our core demographic values. This is a highly professional group of talented young individuals, inspirationally led by their founder, Matteo Bergamini, who has an outstanding capacity to connect with, and engage, diverse audiences, and to offer a vision.”
– Professor Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos, Inaugural Chair in Law, and head of Law, at Goldsmiths, University of London.
With a growing network of over 800 schools, our E-Platform is at the forfront of democratic engagement, Political Literacy and Media Literacy. Since 2016, our Political Literacy Course has been run in secondary schools across the country.
Our hackathons focus on audience-led problem-solving. Groups are formed and the issue to solve is presented with all possible reasons why it exists. Afterwards, using our methodology, participants work together to resolve it. Hackathons can be on any issue.
Previous examples: The gender imbalance in Parliament, Knife crime and how can young people can get more involved in local politics.
Our projects vary from co-creating and delivering 41 Human Rights workshops for Goldsmith University’s Knowing Our Rights project, to a Brexit and Healthcare documentary with University of Sheffield and Queen’s University Belfast.
We have also partnered with the US government’s State Department on media literacy, running our #MediaMinded tours with over 400 young people from all around the UK.
