Hello I’m Courtney! I am a current Urban Studies and Planning student at the University of Sheffield with a passion for doing my part to help make cities better spaces for communities. I know one of the most progressive ways of doing this is creating policies which aid in reducing inequalities and promoting social mobility. Growing up in Smethwick, Birmingham I had the privilege of being surrounded by many beautiful diverse cultures and grew to value the importance of social cohesion and appreciation of the UK’s Black and Asian History. I love to read and my advocacy has been informed by great people including Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, and Da’Shaun L.Harrison. In my spare time I love to write- I’m the current Inclusions Officer of the Liberty Belle Magazine at my university. Exploring trending topics and platforming the voices of others are important drivers for my journalism.
