The appeal of generative AI is entirely understandable. It offers an immediate, beautifully structured, and seemingly authoritative answer to almost any query. However, this seamless convenience masks a significant psychological trap. When an algorithm delivers immediate, perfectly formatted answers, we stop questioning the source and its validity. This shift from active research to passive information acquisition represents one of the greatest challenges to media literacy today. By letting machines do the cognitive heavy lifting, young people risk trading the opportunity to think independently for algorithmic convenience.
