This is a short clip for teaching purposes. Martina Chapman is the national coordinator of Media Literacy Ireland. Unconscious bias is like body odour – it’s hard for us to recognise we have it, so we need to practice good information hygiene to ensure our opinions don’t ‘stink’. Matteo Bergamini talks to Martina about why the term Fake News has become so problematic and how the Media Literacy Ireland campaign managed to create a unified coalition of media organisations rallying around media literacy. Martina also gives you her top tips for ensuring you don’t get caught out by misinformation.

Media Minded mini audio clips give teachers classroom friendly audio to help teachers and students explore the bizarre world of misinformation and conspiracies, with interviews from the journalists tasked with fighting them.
