Your teenage years can be some of the best of your life, and mark the start of getting your independence. They can shape you into the person you hope to become. You also have the perfect excuse of being young and being able to get away with stuff — I would do anything to get these years back!

Here is a bucket list of things you need to tick off before your teenage years are over!

Print photos out

Try to take as many pictures with your friends and family as you can. You don’t have to have a reason to take photos — take pictures of your lunch, you and your friends at the park, or even out on a bike ride. Remembering and appreciating the small things in life are great to look back on! Even better if you take these on a polaroid camera, so you have a physical copy of all the fun things you have got up to. These little memories are great to put in your bedroom or even take away to university.

Get a corner shop job

Although the money might not be amazing, everyone has to start somewhere. Working in a shop allows you to make a bit of extra money, but to also experience and meet a variety of new people. You will get to know the local community and hear some great stories — and you can also make some amazing new friends!

Celebrate You

Celebrate every milestone that you accomplish — whether this is a prom night, finishing your exams, or getting your first boyfriend or girlfriend! Go big on celebrations, for yourself and others, and make sure you always pick a numbered birthday card that you can either personalise or write a nice message inside. Try to get a thoughtful gift to show how much you care about the people in your life. After all, your friends really do help you get through the turbulence of teenage years!

Write a letter to yourself

Write a letter to your future self and include any hopes and dreams that you hope to accomplish. You could either write this on a piece of paper and keep it hidden away, or send it to yourself using future me. This way, you will receive an email at any date you select with your message. This is a great way to self-reflect and set some goals for your future.

Scrapbooking

Create a scrapbook of all your favourite memories. From concert tickets to wristbands, club photos, or even cinema tickets. Even if you aren’t looking your best, your future self will thank you for saving them!
